What are these projects?

The Urban/Rural Women's Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Treatment Project provides grants for women and family-centered treatment programs that have expanded services in key underserved areas throughout the state. These projects serve adult women in need of alcohol and other drug treatment who are also involved in at least one other formal service system. Pregnant women are given priority access to these services..

What services are offered by the projects?

These projects provide women-specific alcohol and other drug abuse treatment under intensive care. Together, in coordination with other community services, the focus is on the empowerment of women to develop the necessary skills for long-term sobriety, parenting, relationships, and employment. All families receive a single coordinated care plan that builds on family strengths, is needs driven, and based on the unique values, norms, and preferences of the family and their community.
