Sunday: 8:00 - 10:45 AM

Monday & Tuesday:  No visits

Wednesday-Friday:  6:00 - 8:45 PM

Saturday & Holidays:  1:00 PM - 3:45 PM


Holidays include: January 1, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, December 24, December 25, and December 31.

Inmate Visit Overview

Inmates are allowed only one visiting session on visiting days.


All visitors requesting entry into the institution for visiting privileges must have proper identification with them at the time of processing.


No visits will be processed prior to 15 minutes before visiting hours begin or less than 30 minutes before the end of visiting hours.


Please note: time delays may occur between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m.



Allowable Items

Inmate visitors will be allowed to take only the following items to the visiting room:

  • A small coin purse with loose change only  (no paper money or wallets allowed)

  • A maximum of 10 photographs carried loosely (no Polaroid pictures allowed)

  • Jewelry, only if worn by visitor

  • Plastic baby bottles (limit of 2)

  • Baby diapers (limit of 2)

  • Pacifier or Nuk (limit of 1)

  • Baby blankets (limit of 1)

  • One plastic comb and/or hair pick (no longer than 6 inches)

  • One jacket/one set of gloves/one scarf/one hat

  • One umbrella per visit (umbrellas must be left in the stairwell and are not allowed in the visiting room)

All items allowed will be run through the fluoroscopic machine prior to entry.


No cellular phones, computers or beepers/pagers allowed.


No hair brushes or other personal items will be allowed, with the exception of emergency medications such as nitroglycerin, asthma inhalers, etc.


All non-emergency medications and other unallowable items will be secured in lockers provided in the lobby.


Dress code

The following apparel is considered inappropriate and will result in the denial of visits:

  • Transparent clothing

  • Swimming suits

  • Blouses, shirts, and dresses which are low-cut; skirts with revealing slits.

  • Shorts shorter than fingertip length (i.e., visitor standing naturally with arms straight down the side of the body and fingers extended)

  • Skirts or dresses shorter than fingertip length plus three inches

  • Strapless, tube or halter tops, and strapless dresses

  • Tops which expose the midriff (front and back)

  • Spandex or Spandex-like and Lycra or Lycra-like athletic pants, aerobic/exercise tights or leotards

  • Underwear worn as outer garments or over the top of other clothing

  • Clothing with revealing holes or tears above fingertip level (i.e., visitor standing naturally with arms straight down the side of the body and fingers extended)

  • Clothing with accessories with obscene or profane writing, images or pictures

  • Sunglasses

Visitors wearing gang or club related clothing or insignia may be denied entrance into the institution, (i.e., motorcycle jackets bearing club logos.)


These restrictions apply equally to men and women.


Visitor Rules

The following is a list of rules for visitors to WRC.  Violation of these rules may result in the termination, denial of the visit, or suspension of visitation privileges for the visitor.


Visitors will be required to provide proper identification.  Proper identification includes one of the following:

  • State Drivers License

  • Valid Military ID

  • Department of Transportation Identification card

  • County Welfare Department Identification card

  • State Picture ID

  • Passport

  • Proper identification for individuals 16 years of age or older includes any of the above listed identification.  Identification is not required for individuals under the age of 16.

Visitors who appear under the influence of alcohol or drugs, display disorderly or inappropriate behavior, or refuse to follow staff directives, may be denied visitation.


Visitors will be permitted to embrace the inmate once at the beginning of the visit and again at the conclusion of the visit.  "Embrace" means a brief kiss and hug.


Minors (any person under the age of 18 years) must obtain special permission from the treatment team to be allowed to visit with an inmate.  This must be obtained prior to the visit.


Inmate visitors will be required to pass through a metal detector.  Please do not wear clothing that contains metal, including undergarments.  If the visitor cannot pass the metal detector, the visit will be denied.  


Visitors with metal in their bodies, such as metal pins or plates, will be required to produce a doctor's medical slip to verify the presence and location of any metal in such person.   Approval to visit should be obtained prior to visiting the institution. 


Denial or Termination of a Visit

A visit may be denied or terminated and visiting privileges may be suspended under the following circumstances:

  • insufficient space available

  • visitor refuses to submit to search procedures

  • visitor appears to be under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any other intoxicant

  • violation of institutional rules by a visitor or inmate

  • failure to prevent their children from disturbing other persons in the visiting area

  • inappropriate display of affection, sexually suggestive activity, or inappropriate dress

Checks, money orders or cash shall be accepted by the Lobby Officer for deposit into an inmate's account and must be processed BEFORE the visitor enters WRC.
