Children's Long-Term Support Waivers
The Children's Long-Term Support Home and Community-Based Medicaid Waivers
(CLTS Waivers) provide a structure within which Medicaid funding is available
to support children who are living at home or in the community and who have
substantial limitations in multiple daily activities as a result of one or
more of the following disabilities: developmental disabilities, severe
emotional disturbances, and physical disabilities. Funding can be used to
support a range of different services that are identified based on an individual
assessment of the child and his or her needs.
Wisconsin has three separate CLTS Waivers, one for each category of disability:
developmental disabilities, severe emotional disabilities, and physical disabilities.
Some children will qualify for more than one Waiver, in which case the family and
their service coordinator will determine which one Waiver is the most appropriate
source of funding for their specific child.
