MMHI: Prohibited Items at Maximum Security Units

The following items may not be brought in at visitation with maximum security patients.

Weapons (firearms, knives, explosives, or facsimiles of these items)
Sharp items and potential weapons (such as: hacksaw blades, razor blades, scissors, etc.)
Any item made from glass
Any metal item (without prior unit staff approval, call the unit)
Electronic surveillance devices
Rope or electrical cords exceeding six feet in length
Toxic substances, including cleaning supplies and laundry soap
Devices with external recording capacity (such as: cameras, turntables, records, etc.)
Flammables, including paints and paint thinner, lighter fluids, lighters
Matches
Medications (over-the-counter and prescription)
Extension cords, three-way plugs
Alcohol, mouthwash, or similar preparations with alcohol content, materials for making alcohol, drugs, illegal substances or drug paraphernalia
Belts exceeding 2 inches wide
Belt buckles exceeding three inches by two inches or weighing over four ounces
Sexual products, appliances, or literature depicting sexual behavior with minors, aggressive or coerced sexual behavior, sadomasochistic behavior
Incense or candles
Reading material that describes making of weapons, explosives, or other devices which may be used in an escape
Suspenders
Batteries (except as given to unit staff directly)
Excessive food (as defined by unit staff)
