Wisconsin
Disaster Medical Response Team (WDMRT)
Medical Reserve Corps
WDMRT is the medical group for K-9 Emergency Response Teams (KERT), a
search and rescue team based in northern Wisconsin. The mission of the
Wisconsin Disaster Medical Response Team Medical Reserve Corps is to
create a cadre of credentialed health and medical volunteers that can
serve and support first responders, area hospitals, and public health
officials in times of major emergencies or disasters.
WDMRT is an all-hazards unit with three goals:
- To provide medical and safety support to both K-9 and humans that
are a part of KERT;
- To provide assistance to public health departments during public
health emergencies; and,
- To provide assistance to hospitals during mass casualty events, by
providing surge resources in the form of a field medical treatment
center.
