SRSTC: Visitor Information

Family, friends, and members of a patient's support system are encouraged to visit Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center. Only visitors on the patient's approved visitors list are allowed to visit in-person or virtually with our patients.

In-person visits

Visits may be limited to two hours. 

Physical contact between visitors and patients will be limited to one embrace at the beginning and at the end of the visit. Kissing is prohibited.

Food may be purchased from on-site vending machines. Direct food sharing is not allowed at this time (example: sharing from a package of chips, candy, etc.). Paper plates will be available for food sharing.

All visitors must follow the rules listed in the SRSTC Visitor Guide. Visitors who do not follow the rules may be asked to leave and may not be allowed to visit in the future.

Visitors who require special accommodations due to a disability or other reason should contact our security department prior to their visit.

Hours

Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays: 7:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

Holidays include New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.


Virtual visits

Virtual visits of up to 30 minutes using Zoom are available by appointment only. Patients are allowed one virtual visit per week. They are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. To schedule a virtual visit, patients should submit a request to their unit social worker.

Virtual visits may be scheduled Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding holidays. Virtual visits outside of these days and hours may be granted upon request. 

Holidays include New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.

Visitor expectations for virtual visits

  • The visitor is required to have an email address to participate in the video visitation.
  • The visitor must use Zoom for the remote connection. This software is available for all Android and iOS phones and personal computers.
  • The visitor is responsible for all fees related to personal internet usage or data plans.
  • The visitor will be required to show valid ID at the start of the video visit to verify identity.

Visitors must follow all of the expectations outlined in the email notification of their visit day and time.  The visit may be terminated if the expectations are not followed.
