TRAIN Wisconsin: A Learning Resource for Public Health Professionals

TRAIN Wisconsin is the premier learning resource for professionals who protect and promote the public's health. TRAIN Wisconsin is a free service of the Division of Public Health and the Public Health Foundation.

This is a free learning management system with a centralized, searchable database of courses for the public health workforce, courtesy of the Wisconsin Division of Public Health and Public Health Foundation. Through TRAIN, users have access to courses from nationally recognized course providers.

It is part of the nation's most comprehensive catalog of distance learning for public health professionals, containing over 31,000 course listings from over 3,100 providers of training. As of June 1, 2013, there are over 708,813 learners registered on TRAIN across the country.

Through TRAIN Wisconsin you can:

  • Quickly find and register for many courses listed on the website from participating 26 states and national sites (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
  • Track your learning with personal password-protected online transcripts,
  • Access valuable materials, course reviews, and discussions to improve your learning experience, and
  • Stay informed of the latest public health trainings in your area of expertise.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has posted the Incident Command System (ICS) and Independent Study (IS) courses on TRAIN as web-based learning opportunities.
