Public Health Nursing Consultants
Supercourse: Epidemiology, the Internet and Global Health is a useful and helpful website. It has over 1000 power point lectures on a variety of topics and also has links to other public health resources from faculty in the United States and from 130 other countries around the world. Hmong American Connection (HAC) Languages Bank: Established in 1995, this organization provides interpreter and translation services to individuals, public agencies, and private sectors in the languages of Hmong, Laotian, and Vietnamese. Alliance for Wisconsin Youth (AWY): Formerly known as the Alliance for a Drug Free Wisconsin. AWY provides resources and developmental assets for youth, promotes volunteerism, and works to build and sustain local community coalitions. AWY has over 120 member coalitions, provides mini-grants, technical assistance, training, a newsletter and sharing opportunities for members. Health professionals, teachers, community groups, and others can use these special times to sponsor health promotion events, stimulate awareness of health risks, or focus on disease prevention. Materials available from sponsoring organizations range from a single flyer to packets of promotional materials.
