Resources for Legislators

The Department of Health Services, like other state agencies, relies on the Wisconsin State Legislature for oversight, funding, and policy direction. Our relationship with the legislature allows us to carry out our mission to protect and promote the health and safety of the people of Wisconsin, ensuring everyone lives their best life.

The primary point of contact between DHS and lawmakers is the legislative liaison, who monitors legislation affecting our programs and services and works directly with policymakers as an advocate.

Our goal is to keep Wisconsin legislators up to date about DHS programs and services, and give them information they need to help constituents.
