Statutorily Required Reports
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is statutorily required to provide one-time, quarterly, annual, and biennial reports on behalf of the agency. DHS is required to provide these reports and information to the legislature and governor.

Biennially, after first consulting with the adjutant general, local health departments, health care providers, as defined in s. 146.81 (1) (a) to (p), and law enforcement agencies, as defined in s. 165.77 (1) (b), the department shall submit to the legislature under s. 13.172 (2) and to the governor a report on the preparedness of the public health system to address public health emergencies. |

Gov Veto Act 20 One-time mandate due June 30, 2015. DHS is directed by the Governor in his veto message to: 1) analyze the factors that contribute to impediments in providing appropriate, patient-centered and coordinated treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health, behavioral health and long-term care needs, including an insufficient number of placement options and to recommend options for addressing these factors, including the role of the department's mental health institutes and centers for the developmentally disabled; and 2) review and recommend organizational changes to improve the development and implementation of policies to better address the needs of individuals with mental and behavioral health needs in the state's long-term care delivery systems. |

Report on Medication-Assisted Treatment in Prisons and Jails |
(2) Proposal for availability of medication-assisted treatment; report. The department of health services shall, using the results of the study under sub. (1) and after consulting with the department of corrections, develop a proposal to implement, or identify county officials to implement, a pilot project to make available in at least one prison or county jail all medications for medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder that are approved by the federal food and drug administration. |
