Borrelia miyamotoi disease is a rare illness in Wisconsin. Deer (blacklegged) ticks infected with B. miyamotoi bacteria can spread the illness. The first confirmed case in the state was in 2016. There have been 35 confirmed cases of B. miyamotoi disease from 2016 to 2024.
