Medical Records Fees
The Department of Health Services (DHS) sets the annual adjustment to fees that may be charged by a health care provider for providing copies of a patient’s health care records. The requirement is part of 2009 Wisconsin Act 146 which seeks to increase transparency related to the disclosure of information about the cost and quality of health care services, including medical records.
