Our work with the Wisconsin START Initiative

In 2022, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services contracted with the National Center for START Services to evaluate the state’s service system for people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health needs. Called the START Scan (PDF), this evaluation helped us learn how effective services and supports are for people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health needs in Wisconsin.

The START Scan will drive our next steps to make improvements. We need your help to analyze and address the START Scan's findings in Wisconsin. Visit our START Initiative page to learn more and see how to get involved.
