COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) continues to recommend the vaccine for Wisconsinites 6 months and older during this fall respiratory virus season.

Wisconsinites can get more information about the COVID-19 vaccine from their health care provider or pharmacy, or on the DHS COVID-19: Vaccine webpage. Those who need assistance accessing health care or health care coverage can dial 211 for help finding local resources.

When are you up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines?

DHS supports the COVID-19 vaccine recommendations issued by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) to protect from serious COVID-19 illness and to prevent spreading it to others. The number of doses needed to be up to date with your COVID-19 vaccine depends on many different factors including:

• Your age.
• The number of prior COVID-19 vaccine doses received.
• Certain medical conditions.

Talk to your health care provider about what being up to date on your COVID-19 vaccine means for you. COVID-19 vaccine recommendations will be updated as needed.

How to check your vaccine records

Electronic vaccination records

If you received your vaccination in Wisconsin, an electronic copy of your vaccination record is available on the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR). You can access WIR through any web browser and save the electronic copy to your computer or mobile device. Parents and caregivers can also search vaccination records for their children or dependents under 18.

Unable to locate your vaccination record in WIR?

If you are unable to locate your vaccine record in WIR or do not have the information needed to search, fill out the Wisconsin Immunization Registry Record Release Authorization, F-02487 (PDF) and have your records sent to you.
