While sexual violence is often approached through the lens of addressing offenders after it occurs, helping people understand what sexual violence is and its risk factors can help prevent it from happening in the first place.

Those who experience sexual violence may feel alone, but resources are available to help.

Peer-support program for LGBTQ+ youth
LGBTQ+ youth can connect with trained peer-specialists to provide free emotional and mental health support and mentorship through Mental Health of American Wisconsin's PRISM program by visiting the PRISM website or calling their toll-free warmline at 414-336-7974.
Dare2Know campaign
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) partners with End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin to promote the Dare2Know Campaign.
