State Disaster Medical Advisory Committee (SDMAC)
The State Disaster Medical Advisory Committee (SDMAC) is a standing committee of 12 members that advise the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) Secretary regarding medical ethics during a declared disaster or public health emergency and to recommend policy relating to the equitable and fair delivery of medical services to those who need them under resource-constrained conditions.
This webpage provides information on the SDMAC and its subcommittees, including meeting times and related materials.
Notice: The SDMAC and SDMAC Subcommittees do not have any upcoming meetings scheduled. As the SDMAC does not currently have a document within an open public comment period, the SDMAC is not seeking public comment at this time.
During a period of limited medical resources the SDMAC is activated to develop guidance that is based on strong ethical principles, the rule of law, and to ensure the equitable and fair delivery of medical services.
The SDMAC is currently activated in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
SDMAC Advisory Committee members are comprised of subject matter experts from healthcare facilities and public health organizations.
Additional members may be added depending upon incident specific response needs.
Subcommittees are established to address specific needs during a response. For example, during the COVID-19 response, a Therapeutics subcommittee and a Vaccine subcommittee developed recommendations on allocation of scarce resources to the DHS Secretary. There are currently no active subcommittees.
All SDMAC-related meetings are public meetings and posted to the Wisconsin Public Meeting Notices &
