General Information
Sepsis, also called septicemia, septic shock or systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), is a life-threatening complication of an infection.
Sepsis is one of the leading causes of death in hospitals. It's also a main reason why people are readmitted to the hospital.
Sepsis occurs unpredictably and can progress rapidly.
