Nursing Home Grant Program: Nursing Home Participation

Have you been asked to commit to a Civil Money Penalty project?

Organizations or businesses may reach out to Wisconsin’s nursing homes with a proposal to participate in a Civil Money Penalty Reinvestment Program (CMPRP) project. This page contains resources to help you choose whether to participate.

Funding limits

Applications for grants fall into these categories:

  • Resident or family councils.
  • Consumer information.
  • Training to improve quality of care.
  • Activities to improve quality of life.

Each category has a limit on how much grant money can be allocated to a nursing home in a year. Committing to funding in a category will impact your ability to participate in other CMPRP grant projects in that same category in that same time period. See QSO-25-26-NH (PDF) to learn more.

Letter of support

A letter of support from each participating nursing home is required when an organization or business proposes a project in a nursing home(s). Your nursing home’s letter of support must state that you understand the funding request counts against your budget for that funding category.

The nursing home administrator or corporate representative may sign the letter authorizing participation in the CMPRP project. The letter must include acknowledgement that the funds they request as part of a CMPRP proposal count against their funding cap for that particular category during that funding period. Corporations are advised to make sure facility leadership is aware of grant participation and funding commitments.
