Acronyms are often used by public and private agencies as timesaving, shorthand ways to communicate lengthy titles or basic concepts. This glossary provides a quick reference to the terms, acronyms and abbreviations commonly used by this Department.

    Federal Government Accountability Office.

  • GEARS

    Grants Enrollment, Application and Reporting System. Formerly known as CARS.

  • GEIAC

    Governor's Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council

  • GHEC

    Governor's Health Equity Council

  • GLITC

    Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council. A coalition of 12 Indian tribes of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

  • GPR

    General Purpose Revenue: consists of state collected taxes and other revenue. This money goes to the state general fund where it can be distributed by the legislature.

  • GWAAR

    Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources, Inc.
