The certified direct care professional (CDCP) path

Begin your CDCP career by completing an approximately 30-hour online training. As a certified direct care professional, your on-the-job role may include personal care activities of daily living, such as dressing, eating, and mobility, to supportive home care duties such as general household tasks.
As a certified direct care professional, you’ll have the credentials needed for many workplace opportunities—from home and community-based services to one-on-one care, adult family homes, and more.
The certified nurse aide (CNA) path

Begin your CNA career today! Choose where you want to work. Get paid by a WisCaregiver Careers employer while you receive free nurse aide training and testing. Every day you’re on the job at a participating nursing home, you will brighten the day of the residents and continue to gain the skills you need to advance in the health care profession. Learn more.
As a certified nurse aide, you’ll receive a listing of all the participating WisCaregiver CNA employers in your area of the state. No matter your age or work experience, you can follow your dreams and enter the field of health care.
The CDCP-to-CNA career ladder path
CDCP online training can jump start in-person CNA certification
Expand your career opportunities by registering for a unique training program that helps you accelerate your free certifications in the health care field. The WisCaregiver Careers CDCP-to-CNA career ladder allows registrants to use their certified direct care professional (CDCP) training as 20 hours of credit toward the state-required 75-hour certified nurse aide (CNA) training course. After earning your dual certification you will be certified to work in any long-term care setting. Learn more.
