ODHH: Behavioral Health Initiative
Improving access and quality for culturally and linguistically appropriate behavioral health services
The Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ODHH) has designed the Behavioral Health Initiative (BHI) with the goal of improving access, quality, and outcomes of behavioral health care services for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, and Deaf-Blind.
Learn about BHI and our plans for the future
The BHI is a multi-pronged approach to include individuals who belong to Deaf, hard of hearing, and Deaf-Blind communities, clinicians, and interpreters. This will be accomplished by providing three tracks focused on the unique needs of each group.

Behavioral Health Initiative Advisory Team
The Behavioral Health Initiative Advisory Team consists of consumers, clinicians, and interpreters with varying backgrounds, expertise, and experiences. The Advisory Team assisted ODHH and the Department of Health Services in creating content and outcomes for the BHI that are appropriate for the diverse Deaf, hard of hearing, and Deaf-Blind communities in Wisconsin. ODHH is grateful for the input and support of the Advisory Team.
