Wisconsin Trauma Care System
May is National Trauma Awareness Month
Governor Evers proclaimed May 2026 as National Trauma Awareness Month (PDF). With this honor, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services would like to sincerely thank all of Wisconsin's trauma centers, hospitals, and emergency medical services personnel for your commitment to your communities and the people of Wisconsin.
The goal of Wisconsin's statewide trauma care system is to reduce death and disability from traumatic injury by providing the best possible care to trauma patients and their families. The system also collects and analyzes trauma-related data.
