Summer EBT

Wisconsin Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer Program logo

Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) is an income-based program that helps families who qualify buy food for their children while school is out. Summer EBT benefits are issued once a summer to eligible children. This means that once a child has been sent benefits, they will not get any more Summer EBT benefits for the year.

The main issuance of Summer EBT benefits occurred on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Since the first issuance, we have sent about $45 million in Summer EBT benefits to more than 211,000 families throughout Wisconsin. The benefits sent out so far will help over 376,000 children.

The Summer EBT Application is live for 2027

The deadline to apply for Summer EBT for 2026 was August 27, 2026. Any application submitted after then will be reviewed for eligibility for Summer EBT in 2027. If you apply for Summer EBT for your child for 2027, a decision on your child's eligibility will not happen until we start issuing benefits next year. You will not get any updates on the status of your application until then.

The date that benefits for Summer 2027 will start to be issued has not been decided yet. This webpage will be updated with that information when it is available.
