WIC: Wisconsin State Plan
Worried about the federal government shutdown?
DHS is closely monitoring the current federal government shutdown. Even though the federal government has shut down, October benefits are available for WIC members. At this time, you can use your WIC benefits, attend WIC appointments, and do not need to take any action. The Wisconsin WIC program is fully funded through the end of October. If the shutdown continues, DHS will update this webpage before the end of October with information about funding for WIC benefits. Contact your local WIC agency with any questions.
The Wisconsin WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) program writes a state plan every year. The plan is submitted to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service. It describes how WIC will be provided for the upcoming fiscal year. It takes effect each year on October 1, after U.S. Department of Agriculture approval.
The approved plan for October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025, is posted below.
