WIC: Wisconsin State Plan
Federal government shutdown and November benefit status: Wisconsin WIC remains available
Wisconsin's federally funded WIC program remains available during the federal government shutdown. WIC benefits will be available throughout the month of November. You can use your WIC benefits and attend WIC appointments. Wisconsin WIC is monitoring the federal government shutdown and funding for WIC closely. Contact your local WIC agency with any questions.
The Wisconsin WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) program writes a state plan every year. The plan is submitted to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service. It describes how WIC will be provided for the upcoming fiscal year. It takes effect each year on October 1, after U.S. Department of Agriculture approval.
The approved plan for October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025, is posted below.
