BadgerCare Plus: HMO Information
Opt-in to get helpful text and email messages
Between June 22 and July 13, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) sent Medicaid and FoodShare members text and email messages asking them to confirm they still wanted to get texts and emails.
If you did not respond, you have been opted out of most DHS texts and emails. If you respond to an old text, you will receive the message “the keyword you specified was not recognized.” You can still opt-in to get texts and emails by logging in to ACCESS (ACCESS in Spanish) and selecting Update Contact Info.

About ownership
The table below lists all individuals or corporations with an ownership or controlling interest in each BadgerCare Plus health maintenance organization (HMO).
About accreditation
Accreditation means the HMOs meet certain requirements related to health care quality. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) requires all BadgerCare Plus HMOs to have two accreditations from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA):
- Health Plan Accreditation
- Health Outcomes Accreditation, formerly Health Equity Accreditation
HMOs can also pursue an accreditation DHS does not require—the Community-Focused Care Accreditation, formerly Health Equity Accreditation Plus.
