Lead & Asbestos Online Certification
Individuals and companies can apply for certification online, paying by Visa, MasterCard, or electronic check. If you'd prefer to pay by money order or paper check, you'll need to mail or personally deliver a paper application. Don't apply online if you have taken training outside of Wisconsin, or if you are fee exempt.
If you have trouble with the WALDO system, please call 608-261-6876 for assistance.
Please note that online application will be unavailable on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. CST due to scheduled web maintenance.
The following are links to forms that can be downloaded, printed, and mailed to our office for processing.
Lead-Free/ Lead-Safe Registry
DHS maintains the Wisconsin Lead-Free/Lead-Safe Property Registry. Properties in the registry include both residential and child-care facilities where an inspection found the property to be entirely free of lead-based paint (Lead-Free) or free of lead-based paint hazards (Lead-Safe). Only properties inspected by a state certified Lead Inspector, Risk Assessor, or Hazard Investigator qualify for inclusion in the statewide registry. Click here for more information about the registry.
More information about lead-based paint, lead-safe renovation and lead abatement, lead training and certification requirements, childhood lead-poisoning in Wisconsin and the health effects of lead exposure, and how to find a certified contractor or how to conduct lead-safe work.
If you are a contractor whose work disturbs paint in homes or other buildings built before 1978, you may be disturbing lead-based paint. Click here for information on your responsibilities when conducting this work.
