Construction Project Plan Review for Health Care Facilities: Administrative Codes and Memos
Upgraded commercial building code to take effect September 1
The Department of Health Services (DHS) will accept plans submitted under the current (2015) code through the month of September.
Starting October 1, all commercial health care building plans submitted to DHS for approval must meet the standards set in the upgraded 2021 Commercial Building Code.
Any supplemental sub-submissions to DHS, such as fire suppression/alarm, HVAC, etc., must be aligned with the code under which the commercial building plan was approved, regardless of how many months later they follow.
Please see the Department of Safety and Professional Services Upgraded Commercial Building Code to Take Effect September 1 (PDF) for more information.
