The Assisted Living Forum is facilitated by the Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Assisted Living (BAL) and meets bi-monthly. Stakeholders involved in assisted living gather in a collaborative spirit to discuss current issues in the regulated assisted living environment.
Entities in assisted living include community-based residential facilities (CBRF), 3-4 bed adult family homes (AFH), adult day care centers (ADCC) and residential care apartment complexes (RCAC). Stakeholders may include the Department of Health Services (DHS) regulators and program bureaus, provider associations, advocates, providers, assisted living business partners, managed care organizations (MCO) and county representatives.
Who should attend forums?
The Assisted Living Forum is intended for professionals working in the industry to share best practices and stay informed on evolving issues to best serve their customers. If you are a member of the media, you are welcome to attend; however, please refrain from asking questions during the Q&A portion of the event. If you have inquiries, please contact DHS Communications at dhsmedia@dhs.wisconsin.gov.
Forum topics may include interpretation of regulations, public funding issues, best practices, quality improvement, workforce issues, statistics and trends, local and national issues and public policy. The morning session is a general meeting for all four provider groups. After a lunch break, the Forum becomes CBRF, AFH ADCC and RCAC breakout sessions.
The forum agenda will be sent out via the Assisted Living Forum listserv approximately one week prior to the scheduled forum. Exact locations will be announced on the agenda.
Submit topics to discuss
Stakeholders may submit suggestions for issues to be discussed during an Assisted Living Forum by emailing the BAL central mailbox.
We encourage you to provide an email address or telephone number on the submission form so that we may respond to any issues/questions submitted that may be more appropriately answered on an individual basis rather than as a topic for the Assisted Living Forum.
